An AI visibility tool should help you decide what to improve. A dashboard that counts mentions is useful only if you can see the underlying answers and connect the findings to work on your reputation.
Before comparing products, define the questions you need the monitoring to answer.
Start with your business questions
You may want to know whether platforms describe your services correctly, repeat a damaging claim or include you when people ask about your field. These are different objectives and need different sets of questions.
Use both questions that name your company and questions about the service or expertise you provide. Keep those groups separate in reports. Being described accurately when someone asks for you is different from being discovered by someone who does not know your name.
Ask to see the evidence
A useful tool should let you inspect the question, full answer, platform, date and cited sources. You should be able to export the record and compare it over time.
Ask how the answers are collected. Results from an automated interface may differ from what a person sees in a consumer product. Location, account settings and access to web search can also affect a comparison.
Understand the score before using it
A mention means your name appeared. A citation means a source was linked or otherwise identified. Neither establishes that the answer was accurate or favorable.
If a product provides a visibility percentage, ask what the denominator is. Which questions were tested, how often, and on which platforms? A score can change because the question set changed rather than because your reputation improved.
Read the answers behind automated sentiment labels. A neutral description of a serious issue and an inaccurate accusation should not be treated as the same problem.
Choose features that support action
Look for source inspection, saved histories, consistent question sets and alerts for important changes. Make sure the tool can separate genuine corrections from ordinary variation between answers.
Then connect each significant finding to an action: correct an outdated profile, challenge an inaccurate source, strengthen a service page or publish missing evidence of your work.
Keep a human review in the process
Automation makes repeated observation easier. People still need to judge whether an answer is true, whether it matters and what to do about it.
RMG uses reputation monitoring to guide improvements in search and AI answers. The objective is a stronger public presence, supported by reporting that shows the work and what changed.
