How inquiries reach us

The forms on this site send your message to the firm's inbox, [email protected]. Delivery is handled by Resend, an email delivery provider, which processes what you enter in order to deliver it and retains delivery records for a limited period; the site itself keeps no database of inquiries. If direct sending is unavailable, the form opens a prepared email in your own email client instead, and nothing leaves your device until you review and send it. Either way, what we then hold is the message in our inbox: your name, your email address, the phone number and organization if you supplied them, and whatever you wrote.

The site's hosting provider records aggregate, non-identifying request statistics, namely page views and visitor counts, which we use to understand which material is read. This does not build a profile of you and is not used for advertising.

Why we hold it

To respond to you, and to conduct an engagement if one follows. Inquiry emails are read by the people at the firm who need to read them in order to reply or to assess the matter. Nothing you send is used for any other purpose.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms. We do not add you to a mailing list because you sent an inquiry. The Machine Record requires a separate, deliberate request. We do not use your matter as an example, in marketing or in conversation, without your specific, current permission.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not become engagements are retained while there is a reasonable prospect of further correspondence, then deleted. Engagement materials are retained for the duration of the engagement and for a limited period afterwards where there is an operational or legal reason to do so, then deleted.

If you ask us to delete everything we hold about you, we will do it and confirm in writing. Write to [email protected].

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of information we hold about you, and to object to processing. We honor these requests regardless of whether a statutory right applies in your jurisdiction, because there is no good reason not to.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The typefaces are served from this site's own host, so an ordinary page visit involves no requests to third parties. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.

Security, stated honestly

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to correspondence within the firm is limited by role. Email itself travels outside our control, and no system is impossible to compromise; we will not claim otherwise. If you have a matter of exceptional sensitivity, call us rather than writing, on 914.786.3544.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We do not make material changes retroactive.
